While treats were baking in the oven this afternoon I made a small start on writing out holiday cards and wrapping gifts. Something warm to drink and delicious to nibble on is a must for doing the cards. This Christmas biscotti is wonderful with gems of chopped dried cranberries & pistachios, a little bit sweet but not too rich or too much--just right. If you'd like to try the recipe, you'll find it In the Kitchen. Normally, my mugs do not match gift wrap--LOL! So it's funny how this polka dot wrap I bought this past weekend goes so well with this mug.
More work on the quilt too...It is slowly progressing. Since I am near completion, I will wait and share a picture when it is all finished, which, I hope will be by the coming weekend.
Today I also set up this tiny table top tree we have. Since we will be away in the States soon for the holidays, we've decided not to do much in the way of decorating or put up a big tree, just to have to come home and take it all down. But a little holiday cheer will be splashed here & there. And a little bit of silliness too...These toy figures are some of the cute little characters (from left: Shtinky Puddin, Guard Dog, Earl and Mooch) from the Mutts comics. Patrick McDonnell creates some of the wisest, most heartwarming, funniest creatures in the comics/funnies world. See the great Mutts site for more about them and their creator.
Wishing you all a day of treats and small surprises... Happy Days! :o)
