On Saturday night we observed Earth Hour. It was disappointing to see so few people/homes in our area joining in this observance... We seemed to be the only ones with no lights, no TV blaring... Maybe many didn't even know, or cared. But we did. And in fact, we relished a whole hour with no light, no TV, no excess electric of any kind. It was a lovely hour of togetherness for Dear Husband, Charlie and I. Time to just be in the sweetness of silence, darkness, just candle-light, time to breathe, to just be... I think we enjoyed this time so much we may have to make Earth Hour a weekly thing at our house! This past weekend we also turned the clocks forward to summer time here. The "missed" hour had us thrown off a little bit yesterday... Funny the difference one hour can make!
The weekend was a mix of fun, creativity and work for both of us. Saturday I had a good chunk of time to work on a quilt that's been in progress, and I hope to get it finished and share here soon. I was also working on some new pieces of jewelry for my Etsy shop, and new items will be appearing there every day this week.
Also this week I'm starting a new photo series at my other blog, A Certain Slant of Light, entitled Everyday. I'll be featuring a simple moment in time each day. My theme last week was The Fabric of My Life, which was great fun to do, so I'm carrying on with a theme this week too.
May your week be filled with sweet, simple moments...
