Hi, Girls! It's me, Charlie-Boy! Mommy & Daddy are very busy. Suitcases are being packed. They think I don't know what that means, but I know that they are going away. Between naps I supervise the packing. Daddy's parents look after me, so I know I'll be fed, watered, and cuddled. But I will miss Mommy & Daddy while they're away...
The good thing is that I get to have the bed and furniture all to myself--meow! I'll be holding this space until Mommy can again...
LOVE & Purrs... Charlie-Boy =^o^=
P.S. Hi, everyone! Charlie's Mommy back here... We will be away for a couple of weeks in the USA. The days have been extra full lately, for a while now. I've been trying to keep up with everything & everyone. Very much we are looking forward to this trip and a break--some rest, some play, some family time. I hope while we're away to share a few photos. My online time will be very limited though, so I may not get to check/answer email, etc. as much as usual. My Etsy shop will be closed until we are back. I look forward to catching up with all of you again as soon as I can. See you the beginning of June! In the meantime, some Charlie-love for you...
To start the week, I thought I'd take you on a little behind the scenes of some creativity happening here. First, a peek in my paint box... I am painting a lot these days...
In mid-April before the Easter break, we took a trip tp IKEA and purchased a big table which is now set up in our living room--where light for creative work is great. After some furniture re-arrangement, new storage for creative supplies, etc., we have made a fun work space. The table is now covered with a pretty oil cloth, not the black drop cloth shown here. But I'm sure other photos will follow... And, yes, that's Dear Husband busy painting, sitting by an A-frame easel! :o)
Here's me working at a tabletop easel...Yes, that is a toilet paper roll keeping the canvas in place... whatever works--LOL! Currently having a great time working with acrylic paints. The canvas I'm working on is still in progress, nearing completion...
I also have a second canvas in progress... waiting for this underpainting to dry before the next layer...
Supplies, tools... and tea...
I quickly took the above shot at IKEA a few weeks ago, while we were browsing the showroom in one of the stores in Oslo. This would be my DREAM STUDIO!...*swoon*... Maybe one day!
This dream studio got me to thinking about creative spaces and where creativity takes shape. About how I can make the most of my current space, while musing about a some day Dream Studio.
Do you have a dream space? Or maybe you already have your dream space?! Where is your creativity flowing right now? I'd love to know... Wishing you all a dreamy week!
"If you've never been thrilled to the very edges of your soul by a flower in spring bloom, maybe your soul has never been in bloom." --Terri Guillemets
What's happening with you right now? Tell me about the ordinary... and the extraordinary! Wishing you all a JOY-filled weekend!
P.S. For two days now I've been having difficulty leaving comments at everyone's blogs who are hosted by Blogger. Anyone else having trouble? I hope it will fix itself... In the meantime, everyone please know that I have been visiting and reading... :o)
This past weekend felt almost like a summer heatwave here in Norway! Hardly a cloud in the sky, the sun so warm... Sunday we headed to nearby Åsgårdstrand, a gem of a place--a little pearl on the western coast of the Oslofjord. It is an idyllic small town, long noted for being an artists town. Since the 1880's it has been a thriving center for the arts. The light there is special--very brilliant and sparkling. And it is just sooo charming! I can easily imagine living in one of the lovely white clapboard, rosy tiled roofed dwellings--preferably with a sea view. ;o) But we had a specific destination in mind on Sunday--Galleri Smalgangen, situated in the old part of town, a gallery of mixed art works and painting presented, as well as being an open ceramic gallery (a ceramic artist often on site), and having up to five special art work exhibits per year.
Inside the gallery... It is a bright open space with art works of pottery, jewelry, textiles and prints for sale--many made by local artists.
We went to Åsgårdstrand, to Galleri Smalgangen, especially to see the lithography exhibit of original works by Norwegian artist Yngve Reidar Vold. These works were so rich with vibrant color, very emotive... Do take a look at his link to see a wonderful picture gallery of some of his recent works. The one above is entitled Hellig stund... "Sacred Moment" -- by Yngve Reidar Vold
Mot kveld... "Towards Evening" --by Yngve Reidar Vold
Under kosmos... "Under the Cosmos" --by Yngve Reidar Vold
There is a lot of beauty to be found in Åsgårdstrand just by walking its streets on a sunny spring day. Notice the fine details in the architecture on houses & buildings. There are so many pretty, well-maintained gardens. Views toward the sea, the Oslofjord, abound.
We ended our day trip down by the water... a sea of water, a sea of masts from sail boats... the tender green of springtime still unfolding here in southern Norway. One of those magical moments where you are one with time, and so glad to be alive in it in such a place!
Wishing you all a week rich with beauty at every turn...
P.S. Many thanks for the warm & enthusiastic comments about my painting and feature, shared in my previous post... :o)
