I'd rather have diamonds on my table than roses on my neck. -- Emma Goldman
During the weekend the pink climbing rose graced us with a few more blooms... The roses are looking so good this year...
Also during the weekend were some very dramatic skies... such clouds! Though it's mostly been warm and sunny...
Today I wanted to share something rather special. Amanda at 32 Degrees North, and her mom at Daughter of the Golden West, contacted me a couple of weeks ago, asking to interview me for an artisan feature at Amanda's blog. I'd never been interviewed about my creative work before, but didn't hesitate to say yes. The process was such fun, and I enjoyed getting to know Amanda and her mom during the interview process, read their archives and discover their Etsy shop filled with lovely offerings. Amanda and her mom are a team who work to provide wonderful vintage collectibles along with an extensive array of papers, nostalgic die-cuts, flowers, trims and much, much more. Do stop by and meet them both! Thank you so much ladies for the beautiful presentation of me and my work. You can read my interview here. (The photo above is a jewelry set in aquamarine gemstones and sterling silver I created last year.)
But how did it get to be Monday again so fast? LOL! With the sun and taste of summer outdoors we're wanting lazier days. We are eager for picnics at the beach, day trips on weekends, cold drinks and salads. Summer is here, but there is much to do, and lots of the usual.
I have various things brewing in my work room, which I'll be sharing with you shortly. And this next coming weekend I'll announce that giveaway I spoke of last week!
Hope that you all had a great weekend, and I look forward to catching up with you during this new week. Happy Days! :o)
What a beautiful rose.
I like the quote but really I would be happier with roses on my table and no diamonds at all!
Hugs for a happy week.
I'm off to read your interview.
much love

I like the diamonds that are in my wedding rings on my finger. I prefer roses on my table because I can't wear roses on my hand.
Congrats on the interview. Interestingly, I just came across Daugther of the Golden West this morning via Mug Monday.

What gorgeous cloud pictures -- and with a bird! I so enjoyed putting together your interview post and am so glad you're pleased. Your answers were perfect and so clearly from the heart (an interviewer's dream!).

Tracy, that is so cool! And you're right - they really showed your jewelry perfectly!

The rose is beautiful! I haven't really seen any roses here so far this year, except the wild ones (which are pretty, I suppose, but hybrid and old fashioned roses are definitely a bit more romantic). Oh, and I look forward to seeing what you have brewing in the work room!
