My very dear friend Se'Lah of Necessary Room hosts a wonderful pen-friend event, *Gift of Jewels*, which I love participating in. Everyone who signs up gets paired with a secret partner and we send cards and/or little gifts. It is exciting to be surprised with some fun mail! This is also a great way to meet new lovely folks in blogland and send a little bit of love around the world.
This week a little bit of love made its way to my mailbox-- a little *Gift of Jewels* from Carla all the way from Brazil. She sent me two postcards of where she lives--it looks like summer-heaven there in Brazil! And she is brilliant at the craft of crochet and made me this fun origami ornament and neat lipstick cover, as well as this very lovely bookmark. And she sent along three special Brazilian Good Luck Ribbons to make wishes/intentions by wearing the ribbons. Thank you so much, Carla for gifts made and sent with love!
A little more fun this week... Looking for something new and crafty to join in on? I just signed up for the Napkin Swap at my sweet friend Lisa's of Stitching Under the Oaks! Make and send a set of handmade cloth napkins, and you'll get a set back too! Good fun and good for the environment. Lisa even provides a tutorial link for making napkins. Hurry...sign up ends this Saturday, February 27th!
What are you doing at the moment... what fun swaps or happenings have you been in on or just joining?

Isn't it lovely to receive parcels from all around the world hinting at different cultures and weather. I think Blogland links fellow crafters who love creating, really well.

Hi Tracy
Such pretty swap gifts! I'm sure yours were also lovely. I've been busy organizing and doing some scrapbooking with photos of my grandson and going to all my doctor appointments to keep this 50+ body going..lol At least I've been able to read quite a bit in waiting rooms and I've enjoyed finishing a few good biographies. Watching the Olympics has also taken up quite a bit of time. Norway has done quite well this year so there must be quite a bit of excitement there. I love the ice skating events. Do you go ice skating?

It is always nice to get some real mail. It must have been fun to do an international swap. The napkin swap sounds fun too. Jos and I are using the napkins we have and then want to make a switch to only fabric. I used to use only fabric years ago when it was not a green thing to do. I just liked them better. I think it would be fun to make them from fabrics in your stash. Great idea!
Hugs from Holland ~

What fun! The napkin swap sounds like the perfect foodie/crafty event... I don't think I've ever made my own napkins, that has to change :D.

Tracy you are a busy girl. I caught up on your posts. I love your photos on the post below and the one of Charlie is the cutest of course. Hope you are having a good week. I think I should make my own dinner napkins....weird that I never thought of doing it.

What a lovely surprise to get in the post Tracy! How very lovely. I was well pleased with what I received as well. It was a very special event to be able to participate in. I have to tell you, I have been made redundant at work, and told to find a new job and home asap. As you can imagine everything is a bit up in the air here at the moment and we are a bit shell shocked. Look forward to talk soon. Love and hugs my sweet friend, xxoo
