We need quiet time to examine our lives openly and honestly... spending quiet time alone gives your mind an opportunity to renew itself and create order. --Susan L. Taylor
A lot happening these days that I don't get to write/share about here, as the days flurry past and are so full...
Shop-keeping has taken over temporarily, and there have been many packages going out thanks to the DE-STASH SALE at my old Pink Purl shop. I am adding the last items there, and the sale will continue for a few weeks yet, and then I will close the shop. This close will then be a permanent one. Grateful though I am, this sale has meant little time to focus on my new shop PranaLight. There has been little time at all for creativity in general, and I'm feeling that.
My guideline for the New Year of Live Slow--Live Well is something I have to keep reminding myself of lately... Slow down...
So with slow down in mind, I will be taking a digital sabbatical for some days to recharge my batteries a bit and to take time to dig into some creative projects burning for my attention. I also would like to get a start on some early spring cleaning. It may be too cold to throw open the windows and air the place out... But I can begin by washing curtains & linens, dusting & de-cluttering, seeing to those neglected corners and get the energy flowing around here again! During the winter things become stagnant. And I fear I also am becoming stagnant as a touch of winter blues settle in. (We're still covered in snow here, and no signs of spring for many weeks ahead here yet.) So some actions in positive directions!
Also during my break I am considering some ways to spruce up our small kitchen. It is a teeny, tiny square of a room that is hard to decorate. I'm thinking a new, fresh color on the walls might be a lift, so looking at paint chip colors. And these two wonderful fabrics--a sort of shabby-chic/country French-inspired print and a red-stripe--will be used to make a new curtain. Touches of red might be a fun accent--a slight departure from my "usual" pastels only... So I've cast-on to knit a pair of red pot holders in anticipation of a new look for the kitchen. I'm not sure we'll get to accomplishing painting & other things in mind for the kitchen during my break... but we'll see!
My shops will remain open during my break. I will try to be around... But for for now, I'm going slow... ;o) See you all soon!
With Love,
